Went to see the crying Virgin Mary in Sacramento today. It was really cool. Makes me want to watch Stigmata.

Case of the Mondays

I just realized that in the "Favorite Music" section of my profile I have ran out of room and many of the bands are not listed. Doesn't really matter. Semester is almost over, I must get a few things read. I slacked off quite a bit last week, I managed to get a few short essays written and a presentation prepared but only read about 40 pages.
I should find out if our house is actually selling today. There is a house we are probably going to rent assuming ours sells. It is smaller than we were looking for (not too small, but my room definitely takes a hit) but it is adorable and all of our pets can move in, even the outside dog. I'm so happy, otherwise she would have had to stay at my Grandparents and I love her too much for that.

Turkey in MySpace

Been cooking all morning, Turkey should be done in about an hour. A few of the other dishes are ready to go.

Just saw my cousin's MySpace blog, apparently you must be 16 to have one. She's 13 but not on MySpace. I suppose 17 isn't as bad as her friend who claims to be 21.

One Ringy-Dingy, Two Ringy-Dingy...6 Ringy-Dingy...I Don't Think She's Going To Pick Up

Phones ringing at 1 am, not necessarily unusual, but it sounds funny doesn't it?

I don't feel well. I don't know what is wrong exactly but the initial culprit was my ear. Now everything hurts. On top of that I'm not sleeping well, so I am perpetually exhausted. Other than that, I'm good. I have a test a 3:30 that I must make it to. I would rather stay home and try to keep sleeping but sometimes I just have to make sacrifices. I should try to sleep some more.

I started knitting again yesterday.

It Only Comes Once a Year

I am so excited about Thanksgiving! This will be our last holiday in this house and because I make Thanksgiving dinner every year, I am going all out. I bought heaps of the ingredients yesterday and I am going to prepare my cranberry-pear chutney tomorrow. As far as preparation goes, this holiday is my favorite. Now, I adore Christmas, all the decorations, giving gifts, but we always have dinner at my paternal grandparents. I adore cooking, particularly big meals and that is ultimately the reason I am drawn to Thanksgiving. So, I am making everything from Maple Glazed Turkey to Aloo Gobi, 15 dishes in all, for 11 people. Obviously there will be leftovers, but sending people home with food is always great too.

I really love the holiday season. Everyone together, decorations, there great.

The strangest replies are spammed. Now, I would hate to set up word verification because I wouldn't want to deter regular people from replying, but some of the replies are ridiculous. So, I registered for my classes which is good. I now just have a few more things to take care of and I can relax.

Registration

Just realized that because I only need 5 units to graduate I could be done with everything after winter term instead of spring. I suppose it doesn't matter because I need 12 units in spring to stay on my father's medical insurance, but it was just shocking that I didn't even think of that. On the bright side, I don't have to take 16 units in spring which will be a nice change. I register wnesday so I will get to choose my fate.

Photos, Photos and More Photos

Here are the pictures from earlier today. One of the tree photos actually turned out quite well.

Sun and Snow

Just got back from taking a drive into the mountains to look at the aspens. The colors are beautiful on highway 4 over Ebbets pass. There was even a lake with a layer of ice over it, you don't see that everyday. Or at least I don't. I didn't take any photos of the trees, but I did get a few photos of a gorgeous sunset and a cute one of my dog playing in the snow. I'll add them to my blog eventually. So I have a future plan of going back up soon to check out some of the wine tasting rooms. I went down to Santa Barbara (my past home, oh memories) over the summer to do wine tasting. But alas, I was ill and alcohol just seemed like an awful idea. Okay, the statement about not having any photos of the trees is a lie, I do have them but they are too dark. Maybe they will look good when they are downloaded. At the very least I can tweak them. On to other news, I'm moving. This is sad news because I love my house. But I guess I will deal with it.

Empty Boats

I just watched The Ring 2, not such a great movie. So I thought that I should explain my blog title. It is a Buddhist proverb, a man (or woman, I guess it doesn't matter) is rowing a boat and crashes into another boat. They turn around and yell at the driver of the other boat, you know "Watch where you are going, idiot!" That sort of thing. Okay, now imagine the same person is rowing a boat across the lake, enjoying the view, the serenity when wham! They hit something. They turn around, to find an empty boat. All of the boats are empty, there is never anything to get angry about because there is never anyone to blame. Now, about blaming yourself, I don't know but I suppose its possible. That is unless your boat is empty as well, but in the realm of choice that doesn't make much sense does it?

I need a vacation

Just thinking about applying to law school is stressing me out. A fleeting thought about which schools I'm going to apply to or the fact that is already November makes me cringe. Fortunately I have a four day weekend so hopefully I can make a decision and still write two papers. In fact, I should be writing one of them right now but I somehow ended up writing this. Surely my self-destructive procrastination has nothing to do with my stress levels.

Not only is he adorable, he can say 'I love you' too.

Grand Opening

This is my first endeavor of spreading my thoughts on the web. After hearing a seminar on the struggle to distribute food to the homeless in the local cities, all I could think about was a homeless elderly gentleman in Amsterdam who decided to take a swing at my sister and I. Oh well, I guess I will come up with a scheme to increase funding anyway.
